Andrew Weatherall is best known as the producer of Primal Scream’s epochal “Screamadelica” album, co-founder of legendary Boys Own fanzine and as one of the original acid house pioneer DJs.
He went on to to produce & remix under various monikers; Two Lone Swordsmen, Sabres of Paradise, The Asphodells, and currently as The Woodleigh Research Facility. As one of the most revered artists in dance music he continues to DJ weekly at clubs and festivals around the world.
However with a passion for literature, culture, art and history, his skills as a raconteur have taken him well beyond the scene he is most famous for. He was also a judge in the Gordon Burn Book Prize in 2018 and curated his own Faber Psychedelic social at Festival no.6 including his own spoken word performance of “My First and Last Acid Trips”.
As an erudite and entertaining anecdotist he has been invited to interview musicians such as Julian Cope, Cosey Fanni Tutti, Brix Smith & Irmin Schmidt (CAN), writers Jon Savage, David Keenan, Rob Chapman and artist Jeremy Deller at literary and musical events around the UK.
