18 May Songs for the National Health Service
One of the positive things to come out of lockdown is that artists of all mediums have had more time than usual to concentrate on creating beautiful things for the rest of us the enjoy. Record labels are inundated with material and DJs are being sent an unprecedented volume of new music. We’re proud to say that some of the artists on our roster joined together with some like-minded artists to release an exclusive vinyl album, with all proceeds going towards the Hoods for Heroes charity. This particular charity is organised by Dr. Natalie Watson at University Hospital in Lewisham and aims to provide powered air purifying respirators to NHS operating theatre staff to use during high risk aerosol generating procedures.
Spector, Swim Deep and Baxter Dury, along with bands such as The Foals, Wolf Alice and The Orielles have each donated an unreleased track and the album is on sale now for £25 via Flying Vinyl. They have already raised over £3000 and aim to hit reach at least £10,000’s worth of sales, so please get involved and raise money for a good cause by listening to some quality music. You can’t argue with that.
